SkyCity Appoints New Head of Personnel and Company Culture

SkyCity Entertainment Group, a ground-based gambling establishment operator, has declared the selection of Sean Phillips as its new Head of Personnel and Company Culture.

Phillips will formally assume the position on September 4th, with Greg McNair, presently the General Manager of Employee Services for Human Resources and Culture in Auckland, serving in a temporary capacity.

Phillips is a seasoned HR executive, presently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer for Chorus NZ, a role he has held for over five and a half years.

Before this, Phillips spent over a decade at AMP in various positions, including General Manager of Personnel.

He also served as Head of Learning Capability for Telecom New Zealand for nearly two and a half years.

Phillips’ new appointment is contingent upon regulatory approval.

Previously, SkyCity revealed in January its plans to appoint former Tabcorp CEO and Managing Director David Attenborough as a non-executive director.

SkyCity aimed to finalize the appointment by March 1st, and Attenborough has consented to take on the new role, but an announcement confirming this has not yet been made public.

In the preceding month, SkyCity appointed Carolyn Kidd to the newly established role of Chief Risk Officer.
