NBA Inks Betting Partnership with TAB in Australia

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has inked a long-term agreement with Australian sports wagering operator TAB, designating TAB as the official betting partner of the NBA in the nation.

The NBA and TAB will collaborate to provide Australian supporters with a wagering experience during the 2021-22 season, the accord specifies.

The TAB brand will be showcased on the NBA’s digital platforms, encompassing the league’s official website and social media channels, while TAB will function as the sponsor of a localized version of the NBA Pick’Em free prediction game.

Furthermore, the NBA and TAB will produce a localized version of NBABet Stream, the NBA’s betting-focused alternative broadcast, marking the initial instance of such an implementation extending beyond the United States.

Tabcorp, the parent organization of TAB, declared in 2019 an agreement with the NBA to introduce the NBA TV 24-hour television network to Tabcorp’s Sky Channel in retail and entertainment locations throughout Australia.

“Fan involvement is at the core of our partnership with TAB, a recognized leader and innovator in the betting domain,” stated Scott Levy, NBA Asia Executive Vice President and Managing Director.

The upcoming NBA season promises to be a thrilling experience, and we’re collaborating with TAB to ensure Australian fans have an exceptional viewing experience. This partnership will facilitate deeper engagement with our audience.

TAB’s head of betting and media, Adam Rytenskild, remarked on the escalating popularity of the NBA in Australia, particularly among the younger demographic. He emphasized that while TAB has historically been a prominent force in horse racing, this collaboration will expand their sports betting portfolio and introduce new patrons to the world of horse racing.

He expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the NBA to provide their clientele with a truly exceptional experience through exceptional products, promotional campaigns, and engaging content.

Yesterday, Tabcorp, the parent company of TAB, reported a total annual revenue of $56.8 billion Australian dollars, representing an 8.8% increase compared to the previous year. They are also preparing to spin off their lottery operations from the rest of their business.
