Betway Partners with GiG for Portuguese Market Expansion

Betway has teamed up with GiG to enter the Portuguese market, making them the second B2B partner brand for GiG in the nation.

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) is supplying the technology behind Betway’s online sports wagering activities in Portugal. This alliance is a major move for GiG, strengthening their standing as a premier B2B provider in the strictly controlled online gaming landscape. They are clearly looking to broaden their group of high-profile partners.

Portugal, recognized for possessing one of the most sophisticated online gaming structures in Europe, continues to offer a lucrative opportunity for expansion. Based on GiG’s figures, the Portuguese market generated a remarkable €6.586 billion (or $7.206 billion) in 2022, representing an impressive annual increase of more than 30%.

Andrew Cochrane, GiG’s Chief Commercial Officer, conveyed his satisfaction with the collaboration with Betway, emphasizing the dedication invested in adapting the product for the unique regulatory environment of the Portuguese market. He views this partnership as proof of GiG’s dominance in the B2B sector. Cochrane stressed GiG’s continuous commitment to investing in advanced products and technology, with the goal of attracting even more premium clients like Betway and improving the experience for their current partners.

Anthony Werkman, the CEO of Betway, added that GiG’s platform will be crucial in reaching their ambitious growth objectives in Portugal for 2024. He believes this collaboration will enhance the sports betting experience for their existing Portuguese clientele while encouraging new users to join their platform.

This collaboration will unite our groups to lead the area.

This pact comes after a series of major victories for GiG, such as recruiting Cochrane as Chief Commercial Officer and Matthew Saxon as Chief Technology Officer. The company is expanding its workforce to tackle this objective and succeed.
