Allwyn and Vodafone Join Forces to Modernize UK National Lottery

Camelots successor as the UK National Lottery operator could be Allwyn, the UK arm of lottery powerhouse Sazka Group, which has partnered with Vodafone for its bid. Allwyn sees Vodafone’s advanced technology, especially in fields like the Internet of Things and 5G, as key to bringing the National Lottery experience into the modern age.

This collaboration places player well-being at the forefront. By utilizing these technologies, Allwyn intends to implement new functionalities and protections to guarantee a safe and engaging experience for all participants.

Sir Keith Mills, Chair of Allwyn’s bid, underscored their commitment to rejuvenating the lottery and amplifying its beneficial influence. He emphasized their history of revitalizing lotteries while prioritizing player security and ethical expansion.

This alliance with Vodafone, coupled with Sazka Group’s vast expertise and the counsel of a distinguished advisory panel, positions Allwyn to usher in a new chapter for the UK National Lottery.

The Gambling Commission’s quest for a new operator commenced in August 2020, as the existing license is due to terminate in 2023. The forthcoming license will be effective for a decade.
